Nacho Cheese Triangles

These were delicious, they oozed with cheese!  I must admit, I did not make my own dough for these.  I used Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry.  It comes 2 in a package, so either use both at once, or only defrost 1 sheet.  (and such a treat, you got to see the inside of my oven... oh boy!)

Makes 20

1 Sheet Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry
1 egg
1 tablespoon water
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup chunky salsa
Chili powder

  • Thaw pastry sheet at room temperature for 40 minutes
  • Heat oven to 400 degrees bake
  • Beat egg and water in a small bowl
  • Stir cheese and salsa in a separate bowl
  • Unfold pastry on a lightly floured surface
  • Roll the pastry into a 15 x 12 inch rectangle
  • Cut into 20 squares (I used a pizza slicer)
  • Place 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square
  • Brush the edges of the squares with egg mixture
  • Fold the pastry over the filling to form triangles
  • Crimp the edges with a fork to seal
  • Place triangles onto a baking sheet.  Brush the pastries with the egg mixture and then sprinkle with chili powder
  • Bake for 15 minutes, or until the pastries are golden brown
