This recipe tastes like a combination of turkey and stuffing. The original recipe yields 4 hamburgers and uses a sauce as a topping along with cheddar cheese. (I will add this to the end of the recipe)
1 lb ground turkey
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 tablespoon butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 celery stalk, finely chopped
1 tart apple, peeled and grated
1/3 cup breadcrumbs. (I used unseasoned Panko)
2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cups parsley
1 egg beaten
- In a skillet over medium heat, saute onion and celery in oil and butter until soft
- Add apple and cook another 3 minutes
- Place in a bowl to cool
- Add bread crumbs, seasonings, parsley, mustard, egg and turkey
- Cook 350 degrees in greased pan until the temperature reaches 170 degrees.
**Serve with fresh cranberry sauce.
For Hamburgers:
In a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, fry patties until done. Top with sharp cheddar cheese. Add some sauce:
Mix together:
1/3 cup cranberry sauce
2 tablespoons sour cream
2 tablespoons chopped chives
