Turkey Burgers

This is actually an old Weight Watcher's recipe.  The kids and I love these, and they are healthy.  They make 4 large burgers, or 8 small ones.  I like to make "sliders" for the kids.  I add a small square of American cheese and put them in toasted whole wheat buns.  The Tarragon Oven Fries (recipe from 12/20/12) make a great side dish.

1 spray Pam
1 lb uncooked ground turkey breast
1/2 medium uncooked chopped red onion  (I use a small amount of onion chips instead)
1 large beaten egg
2 tablespoons fresh, chopped parsley
1 medium garlic clove, minced (I sometimes just use garlic powder)
1/2 teaspoon dried tarragon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • Preheat broiler
  • Combine all ingredients and form into either 4 or 8 patties
  • Place on a greased pan
  • Broil 4 inches away from the heat until brown, about 5 minutes on each side
These taste just as good reheated.
