You might be thinking, "What, dessert and no dinner?" Truth is, we are having leftovers tonight. As far as dessert is concerned, I have an excuse...my friend and her son are coming over for a visit. These are delicious and easy to make. Guaranteed, your kids WILL like these!
1/2 cup butter
3 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped (I did not chop, I just melted over a very low burner)
1 1/3 cups sugar
2 large eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1 cup miniature marshmallows
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- In a 2 to 3 cup quart pan, over low heat, stir butter and chocolate until melted and smoothed. Remove from pan and stir in sugar, eggs, vanilla, flour and marshmallows until well blended
- Spread batter evenly in a buttered and floured 8 inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with walnuts if desired
- Bake at 350 until deep brown. 30 - 35 minutes
- Run a knife between pan rim and brownies. Let cool on a rack for 1 hour. Cut into 9 or 16 squares.
